Study Architecture at ECOTEC
The Architecture program prepares well-rounded professionals capable of designing and building spaces that improve people’s quality of life, while respecting the natural and social environment in which those spaces are developed. Carry out processes of analysis and interpretation of information in diverse contexts, promoting the assessment of data to make well-founded judgments, while maintaining a reflective and respectful approach toward different viewpoints for the purpose of contributing effective solutions to complex problems.
Effectively lead work teams, assuming commitments that contribute to the improvement and development of an organization, promoting collaborative leadership to strengthen cohesion and achieve common objectives, with an ethical and responsible attitude in joint decision-making for conflict resolution
Generate original ideas in diverse contexts, promoting the association of concepts and the identification of relationships among factors to address challenges innovatively, while maintaining an open and flexible attitude toward change with a critical approach to implementing original and creative solutions.
Develop a logical and structured sequence of research processes autonomously and creatively to generate new knowledge and apply and strengthen existing knowledge, collecting and analyzing data clearly and coherently, while maintaining a critical and ethical approach throughout all stages of the research process.
Identify and communicate conceptual proposals through sketches and clear graphic representations, applying principles of composition to ensure the aesthetic and functional quality of the design. In architectural design contexts and critical reviews, work with interdisciplinary teams and clients to ensure that projects are presented clearly and effectively and are adapted to the needs of the target audience, promoting a critical, reflective, and collaborative attitude, valuing constructive observations from stakeholders, and maintaining ethical commitment, professionalism, and respect in the argumentation and defense of projects in order to contribute to responsible and well-founded decision-making.
Develop architectural designs based on the interpretation of client needs and the analysis of the project context, establishing design foundations and requirements in planning and construction environments; selecting materials and construction techniques based on durability, cost, and sustainability criteria; evaluating prototyping alternatives and conducting tests to assess the functionality and compatibility of materials; optimizing the quality of the final result through adjustments based on feedback and final evaluations; and promoting a reflective and professional attitude with a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and ethics at all stages of the process.
Prepare and manage urban-architectural projects through reviews and approvals, ensuring efficient resource management and problem-solving during execution; ensuring, in design and construction contexts, compliance with established objectives; continuously evaluating the effectiveness of implemented solutions and making the necessary adjustments to keep the project on track; promoting a critical, reflective approach oriented toward continuous improvement; and acting with responsibility, ethics, and professional commitment at each stage of the process.
Analyze cultural, social, and environmental factors to support architectural design and ensure its relevance and sustainability. In planning and project-development contexts, formulate strategies based on sustainability and bioclimatic design principles to minimize environmental impact and improve design efficiency; examine the results of environmental and social impact analyses using simulation and evaluation tools; assess the effectiveness of adjustments made to optimize sustainability and contextual integration; and promote a critical, reflective, and responsible approach, acting with ethics and commitment at all stages of the process.

An architect designs spaces and oversees their construction so they are functional, safe, and pleasant to live in. Do I need to know how to draw to study Architecture in Ecuador?
You don't need to draw like a professional when you start. Hand drawing and graphic representation are learned and practiced throughout the program, along with design and digital modeling software. What does help is spatial awareness, curiosity about how places are made, and the patience to revise a design several times.
