It is the process by which a specialized agency in the United States evaluates the academic record and degree earned at ECOTEC to determine its equivalency within the U.S. education system.
An ECOTEC undergraduate degree is generally recognized as a Bachelor’s Degree (4-year university degree).

This certificate is essential for:

• Further studies: applying to master’s or doctoral programs at U.S. universities.

• Professional employment: presenting your credentials to U.S. employers that require a university degree.

• Immigration processes: meeting the requirements for work visas or employment-based residency.

Yes. As a university accredited and recognized by Ecuador’s oversight bodies (CES and SENESCYT), its degrees meet the standards required to be evaluated by credential agencies in the United States.

NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) is the organization that brings together the most recognized and widely accepted evaluation agencies in the United States.

Choosing a NACES member agency (such as Josef Silny & Associates) ensures the evaluation will be valid and widely accepted by universities, employers and immigration authorities.

• Dual Degree (San Ignacio University):
  The student directly earns a U.S. degree while studying at ECOTEC. No additional validation is needed, since the degree is issued in the USA.

• Degree Equivalency:
  A process for ECOTEC graduates (who did not choose the dual degree) so that their Ecuadorian degree is recognized as equivalent in the United States through an external evaluation.

• Undergraduate degree (translated into English)

• Academic record / transcripts (courses and grades, translated into English)

• Copy of your passport

Once the agency receives all the documents, the process usually takes 2 to 3 months.

A course-by-course evaluation (the most complete one) costs $750 USD.

Yes. Agencies convert ECOTEC‘s grading scale to the U.S. 4.0 (GPA) scale, so universities and employers can interpret your academic performance by their own standards.

It is the official procedure by which the Government of Spain recognizes studies or degrees obtained abroad. There are two types of procedures:

• Homologation: recognition of a foreign degree as equivalent to a specific official Spanish degree (for example, Medicine, Law or Engineering). It allows you to practice a regulated profession in Spain.

• Equivalency: recognition of a foreign degree at an academic level (bachelor’s or master’s), without linking it to a specific program. It serves academic and employment purposes, but does not qualify you to practice regulated professions.

The academic equivalency lets you officially certify the level of studies you completed abroad.

• Homologation is required to practice regulated professions.

• Equivalency makes it easier to access jobs, selection processes and further studies, although it does not allow you to practice regulated professions.

• Second Degree:
  The student directly earns a Spanish degree from Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes while studying at ECOTEC. No later validation process is needed.

• Academic equivalency:
  A process for ECOTEC graduates (who did not choose the second degree) so that their Ecuadorian degree is recognized as equivalent abroad through an external evaluation.

• Apostilled university degree

• Apostilled curriculum or study plan with course hours

• Apostilled transcript of grades

• Copy of your passport

The process can take up to 6 months. In exceptional cases, this period may be longer.

The evaluation costs $750 USD.
