Admission Requirements
Hold a high school diploma (or equivalent).
Color copy of the National ID card (cédula) or passport with visa for international students.
Color copy of the voting certificate from the most recent elections or referendum.
Two recent, color, passport-size photos.
Have passed the University’s leveling (foundation) course.
Graduate Profile
Perform processes of analysis and interpretation of information in diverse contexts, promoting the evaluation of data to make well-founded judgments and maintaining a reflective and respectful approach toward different perspectives with the purpose of providing effective solutions to complex problems.
Effectively lead work teams, assume commitments that contribute to the improvement and development of health services, and promote collaborative leadership to strengthen cohesion and achieve common goals, with an ethical and responsible attitude in joint decision-making for conflict resolution.
Generate original ideas in diverse contexts, encourage the association of concepts and the identification of relationships among factors to address clinical and health challenges innovatively, and maintain an open and flexible attitude toward change with a critical focus on implementing original and effective solutions.
Develop a logical and structured sequence of research processes autonomously and creatively, to generate new medical knowledge and apply and strengthen existing knowledge, collect and analyze health data clearly and coherently, and maintain a critical and ethical focus at all stages of the research process.
Apply clinical knowledge and diagnostic reasoning to evaluate the health status of individuals across the lifespan, integrate pathophysiological and epidemiological concepts, and make evidence-based decisions to support patient care.
Demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, including history taking, physical examination, interpretation of diagnostic tests, and performance of medical procedures with accuracy, safety, and respect for patient dignity.
Develop patient-centered care plans, integrating preventive, therapeutic, rehabilitative, and palliative strategies, while considering ethical, cultural, and psychosocial dimensions that impact health and well-being.
Promote ethical, professional, and socially responsible medical practice, respecting human rights, patient autonomy, and cultural diversity, and contributing to community and public health with a commitment to equity and health promotion.
