SAMBORONDÓN, February 12, 2026 – In a day defined by innovation and social commitment, Ecotec University hosted the Hult Prize Impulso Ecotec Pitch Day at its Samborondón Campus. The event, which gathered brilliant minds from various departments, concluded with Team “Off Menú,” emerging as the winners. They will now represent the university at the national competition in Quito.
The ceremony was opened by Mgtr. Paula Henao, Director of Internationalization, and featured technical leadership from Mgtr. Ana María Gallardo and Mgtr. Efrén Avilés, heads of the Impulso Ecotec Entrepreneurship Center. A jury of experts, including rigorously evaluated the feasibility and impact of each proposal in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The winning team, Off Menú, is composed of the following students:
Fernando Choez (Digital Business).
Elkin Sánchez (Intelligent Systems).
Axl Velásquez (International Business).
Angélica Piedra (Industrial Engineering).
Their proposal stood out among other competitive projects such as “Vita,” “Alloy,” “Conecta Ciudad,” and “Eco Hub”.
With this victory, “Off Menú” secures its place in the National Pitch Day, where they will compete for a chance to advance to the international rounds of the world’s most prestigious social entrepreneurship competition for university students.
