On November 26, the University held the 15th edition of the Communication, Art, and Culture Recognition Awards at the Networking Center. This event seeks to honor leading figures who represent Ecuador’s talent, culture, and social service.
With the presence of the University’s authorities, the program began at 4:00 p.m. with welcoming remarks from our Rector, PhD Joaquín Hernández, who greeted each of the guests joining us for this important occasion.
The first recognition, presented by ECOTEC students and faculty in the field of Communication, was awarded to Andrés Mendoza Paladines, General Director of Radio Atalaya and a national benchmark in broadcasting, who has kept words, news, and debate alive through the microphone.
In the field of Art, the award went to soprano Beatriz Gil Parra, whose voice invites us to learn, experience, express our ideals, move emotions, and connect empathetically with the world.
The final honoree of the event was Ecuadorian writer Leonardo Valencia, recognized for his tireless effort to address complex questions and to capture reality with clarity using only a sheet of paper and a pen—an achievement that has made him one of the country’s most renowned literary figures.
The event concluded with remarks from Dean Mgtr. Katherine Calero Cedeño, who thanked all guests and students, as well as the award recipients, for accompanying us.
Reaching 15 years of tradition is no small achievement. More than 40 distinguished individuals have taken this stage to receive the applause of a youth that admires them and aspires to make an impact, just as they do every day. As an institution, we remain committed to moving forward on this path.
